Baby's Food

The babylist of food is very important. The balanced diet of a newborn baby is quite different from children. Children need low fat and high fibre diet but a newborn baby needs high fat and low fibre diet. The fibre is a good thing in baby's diet, but it's very filling. This will leave your baby's tummy full to eat other foods.

The nutritional requirement of a baby changes at each stage of development as they grow. The right balance of the nutrient and energy is important to support healthy growth. The little tummy is ten times smaller than ours, so make sure that every spoon is small but packed full of nutrients and goodness.

This is the reason why babies take small portions throughout the day on a regular basis, not few larger meals.

Variety is the spice of life. It is imperative that your child tastes everything until the age of two, as these will become preferences and fixed until they are around eight years old. Make sure they have tasted red meat, fish, poultry, various vegetables and fruits, cereals, dairy, potatoes, rice and pasta.

Different foods contain different nutrients and vitamins. Vitamin D is difficult to get enough from food alone. Unfortunately the UK weather makes it even more difficult to get the required vitamin D from sunshine. Therefore baby's normal bone development support from sunshine gets harder. Foods such as liver, eggs and oily fish are rich in vitamin D.
